Among our hills

The location of the farmhouse, nestled between the gentle hills of Monte San Pietro,
allows you to visit the most famous and spectacular destinations in our area.
Immerse yourself in this enchanting landscape where history and nature blend in harmony with colours and shapes.

Those who love hiking can choose among the many nature paths around the farm, amongst woods, vineyards and cottages that dotted around the surrounding landscape. Those who love the city can comfortably reach the center of Bologna or visit the many ancient hamlets in the area.

Monte San Pietro
Monte San Pietro represents the ideal starting point for a journey of history, nature, food and wine, offering the visitor the typical landscape of the Tuscan Emilian Apennines: flat areas, vast calanchi (clayey outcrops), river banks and sweet reliefs, on which the vineyards leave their fascinating impression. The whole area boasts a long tradition of wine-producing.

Monteveglio
The charming village of Monteveglio rises together with the ancient Abbey of Santa Maria Assunta on the end of a hill dominating the valley and offering visitors a wonderful view of the surrounding hills. The historic remains of this village are extraordinary: the ruins of the castle, famous for its troubled medieval events, the abbey of Santa Maria, the noble palaces and the old rural villages surrounded by fields and vineyards.

The Regional Park of Monteveglio Abbey
The Regional Park of Monteveglio Abbey was set up to protect and enhance this valuable environmental area: a thousand acres of parkland, just a stone’s throw from the town, which offers visitor a pleasant and varied landscape in which vineyards and orchards alternate with dense forests and calanchi, the clayey outcrops of ancient origin that enhance the landscape, making it even more impressive.

Bologna
Easily reachable from the farm holiday by car, train or bus, the Emilian capital does not need much presentations.
Noteworthy around the world for its indisputable beauty and its tasty cuisine, in recent years Bologna has been experiencing a period of new and interesting tourist and cultural turmoil, thanks to the birth of FICO, the Eataly World.
Rightly considered the Italian City of Food, Bologna is a must-see for lovers of good food, which is expressed in its most diverse formulas: from traditional restaurants with Emilian cuisine to eccentric ethnic restaurants, from gourmet burgers to vegan cousine… today Bologna offers a wide and tasteful range of food and wine opportunities.

Modena
About twenty kilometres from our farmholiday and easily reachable by car or train, Modena is certainly one of the destinations to be noted in the surrounding area. Famous for its medieval history, craftsmanship in cars (with the headquarters of Ferrari and Maserati) and the famous balsamic vinegar, Modena is a delight for tourists of all ages. The XII century Romanesque cathedral with its spectacular Ghirlandina is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Just outside the city, in Maranello, there’s the Ferrari Museum, a museum dedicated to the Ferrari brand and the Italian car racing industry.
